“Contrasts”
Ann Marie Morgan has been delighting Happy Hour audiences since our second season. This year she teams up with MinTze Wu and David Crowe for a debute of this newly-formed trio.
Opening with Faure’s beloved Pavan and ending with the fiery Marais variations on the Folia (both pieces arranged for their instruments) provides excellent “trio bookends” to solos and duos featured throughout the program. In addition to contrasts in the number of performers playing in a given piece, the variety of instrumental sounds and musical styles, along with the huge pitch range (low bass to high violin) will be a feast for the ears and hearts.
