Soprano Jennifer Burks and lutenist Brian Bartling explore the world of the 17th-century lute song in France and England. Old classics by Dowland are paired with ayres from his fellow countryman John Danyel, as well as air de cour from the French composer Étienne Moulinié. The program also includes a realization of the only French cantata by Handel.
