“Nuestra Señora” draws inspiration from a 1589 document detailing the contents of the musical collection in the Mexico City Cathedral. The inventory, which was briefly uncovered in the 1940s before being lost & subsequently re-discovered around 2008 by Javier Marín López, gives thrilling insight into 16th-century North American performance practice of polyphonic repertoire.

Co-directed by Madeline Healey and Timothy Parsons, Ampersand is a virtuosic vocal chamber ensemble dedicated to bringing early music to life in areas of natural beauty. Through collaboration & context we explore the intersection of music & speech, independence & community. We endeavor to bring consort singing into the spotlight through the transcendent & captivating repertoire of the late Renaissance.
