Featuring works by François Couperin and Arcangelo Corelli — the undisputed titans of their respective musical worlds — Au pied du Parnasse celebrates the rich tapestry of cultural exchange at the heart of 18th-century music. This program highlights the creative tension between French elegance and Italian brilliance, celebrating Baroque virtuosity and affirming the enduring power of dialogue across cultural boundaries.
Formed at the Yale School of Music, period-instrument ensemble Y415 approaches the music of the past with artistic and critical urgency. The ensemble performs with equal commitment to craft and context, inviting audiences to experience the brilliance and complexity of early modern repertoires and, through them, to reckon with historical legacies that continue to shape the modern world.
