Great Basin Baroque will share Pandemic Videos

Please join Salt Lake City’s Great Basin Baroque for a friendly share on zoom of videos we have made during the pandemic.

Our members will share solo video performances in turn. We have also put together a collage of Buxtehude’s Trio Sonata Op. 1, No. 1, with special guest, Denver-area gambist Sarah Biber.

Great Basin’s core members are:

Eleanor Christman Cox, baroque cello

Loren Carle, harpsichord

Rachel Miles, baroque flute

Micah Fleming, baroque violin

This showcase thus features the opportunities highlighted by isolation in this age of widely available digital tools and resources.  With no budget for professional personnel or equipment, all of our videos were recorded and edited using common devices, and included or inexpensive laptop software and mobile apps. While we all eagerly anticipate returning to the energy of in-person collaboration and audiences, it’s worth noting that these tools can be carried forward for musical community-building, post-pandemic!

As with a live concert, please support us with a freewill donation on our GoFundMe. Your generosity supports the building of a professional community of period instrumentalists in the Intermountain West.
