Historical keyboardist and academic Kathryn Cok has been elected President of the Historical Keyboard Society of North America. This is a two-year post commencing in July 2026.
The Historical Keyboard Society of North America is a United States-based nonprofit organization composed of members who love and promote early keyboard instruments and the music written for them. Formed in 2012 through the merger of the Midwestern Historical Keyboard Society (MHKS, est. 1984) and the Southeastern Historical Keyboard Society (SEHKS, est. 1980), its members include instrument builders, performers, teachers, and scholars. HKSNA hosts regional workshops, a biennial conference, and publishes the Early Keyboard Journal, a refereed periodical and one of the few scholarly English-language journals devoted solely to the music, performance practices, and organology of keyboard instruments up to about 1850.
