11th Annual Conference of the Historical Keyboard Society of North America

Spanish Roots: Music in Iberia and Latin AmericaMay 17–20, 2023 Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, CA

Proposal due date: December 15, 2022

You are invited to the 2023 HKSNA Annual Conference! Join us in the Los Angeles area at Claremont Graduate University (CGU) from Wednesday afternoon May 17 through Saturday, May 20, 2023.

Inspired by the historical ties of California to the Spanish-speaking world, the focus at this meeting will be on all aspects of early keyboard music associated with Spain, as well as in Iberian and Latin American settings.

Our conference host is the Music Department at Claremont Graduate University (https://www.cgu.edu/departments/music/), Dr. Robert Zappulla, chair. CGU is a private, all-graduate research university in Claremont, CA, a suburban city 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles nestled at the base of the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. CGU is situated on a 19-acre tree-filled campus, and is a member of the Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate and two graduate institutions located on contiguous
campuses. HKSNA is also pleased to partner with the nearby Claremont United Church of Christ (https://claremontucc.org/)
on the use of their beautiful Glatter-Götz (Manuel Rosales, consultant) organ.
