Biography
Baroque violinist Eleanor Legault is a versatile performer and interpreter of early music, who plays with a diverse roster of period ensembles.
Recent performances include international tours with The English Concert, and engagements with Les Arts Florissants, Philharmonie Austin, MAFestival Bruges, The Sebastians, and Tempesta di Mare. Founder of ensemble Duo Moda, a historical violin/cello duo, her album is expected to release in the fall of 2025. Eleanor was a finalist in the Matthieu Duguay Early Music Competition, and made her directorial debut in Seattle in January 2025. Sought after as a chamber musician and leader, Eleanor has curated programs based on her own research for her own ensemble Aquitaine, as well as international chamber ensembles.
Eleanor studied at The Juilliard School, the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Indiana University Jacobs school of music, and Lawrence University and Conservatory, where she earned a dual degree in English Literature. She performs on a composite Tecchler violin from Rome, 1703.
