Biography

Fernando Santiago is a Spanish Brazilian violinist, both modern and baroque. Recent collaborations include Les Arts Florissants, Brecon Baroque, Wigmore Hall, and the London Handel Festival, alongside names such as Rachel Podger, Jos van Veldhoven, Paul Agnew, and Laurence Cummings. An Enlightenment Award holder, Doggett Family Foundation awardee, and Hogwood Scholar, lately supported by Help Musicians, he continues his investigations with Pavlo Beznosiuk, Nicolette Moonen, and dance specialist Mary Collins. Winner of the 2025 Nancy Nuttall Early Music Prize, Fernando has appearances in the Saintes and Périgord Noir Festivals, also joining the latest two editions of the Pécour Academy for historical dances. Since this summer, he is a recipient of the Citi Award – Young Talents in Music, promoted by the Cultura Artística Society, back in Brazil.
