Biography

Cincinnati-based Baroque violinist Lindsey Tootle has enjoyed success on the international stage as a soloist and music educator. Her musical adventures have taken her around the world, from breezy homes in Italy to the rainforests of Costa Rica. Lindsey showed interest in music beginning in infancy, and started violin at the age of three. Her natural gravitation towards Baroque music, even during her earliest formative years, resulted in a career largely dedicated to historically informed performance.

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Lindsey studied on full academic and performance-based scholarship at the University of Alabama, where she graduated cum laude with a B.M. in violin performance. She studied violin with Jenny Gregoire, and Baroque violin with Gesa Kordes. As a Baroque violinist, she has offered numerous solo recitals, and collaborated with Atlanta Baroque, as well as with members of Harmonie Universelle and New Trinity Baroque. She is a member in residence with Seven Hills Baroque in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Lindsey has taught violin to students of all ages and abilities for over a decade. She also greatly enjoys her career as a paralegal, with experience in criminal defense, family, and immigration law. She plans to become an immigration attorney through part-time law school in future. In her free time, you might find her exploring the outdoors, or studying Arabic in a local café.
