Biography

Emma George is a mezzo-soprano specializing in early music repertoire. She has most recently sung the roles of Ericlea in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria (the Baroque Opera Workshop at Queens College) and Alfonso Re/Furore in Cavalli’s Veremonda, l’amazzone di Aragona (The Society for Seventeenth-Century Music/Princeton University). Other recent credits include the alto soloist in Bach’s Cantata no. 33 and Handel’s “Tanti strali” with Early Music Princeton. She performs regularly as a soloist and consort singer with Early Music Princeton, and has previously performed with Brown Opera Productions, the Brown University Chorus, and the Providence Baroque Orchestra. She studies voice with Barbara Rearick, and is a PhD candidate in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at Princeton University.
