Biography

Emma George is a mezzo-soprano with a particular interest in early music repertoire. She has most recently sung the roles of Ericlea in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (the Baroque Opera Workshop at Queens College) and Alfonso Re/Furore in Cavalli’s Veremonda, l’amazzone di Aragona (The Society for Seventeenth-Century Music/Princeton University). Other recent soloist credits include "Erbarme dich" and "Buß und Reu" in Bach's St. Matthew Passion with Princeton Chamber Choir/The Sebastians, Bernier's cantatas "Le Caffé" and "Vertumne et Pomone" with Philadelphia-based Baroque group Ensemble Le Parnasse, and Strozzi's "L'Eraclito amoroso" at the Princeton Art Museum. She performs regularly as a soloist and consort singer with Ensemble Le Parnasse and Early Music Princeton, and is a 2026-27 VOCES8 US Scholar. She studies voice with Barbara Rearick, and is a PhD candidate in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at Princeton University.
