The Kentucky Bach Choir is delighted to announce the outcome of a year-long search: Dr. Vicki Bell and Dr. Stephen Bolster have accepted appointment as Co-Artistic Directors. Dr. Bell taught music theory and directed the Chorale at Asbury University for over 20 years. Her research focuses on the music of G. P. da Palestrina, and she currently directs ECCO Chamber Choir and serves as organist/choirmaster at St. Raphael Episcopal Church in Lexington. Dr. Bolster taught applied voice, conducting, and vocal methods for nearly 40 years at Berea College and conducted the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. An experienced solo singer, his special interest is in acoustical phonetics and choral sound. Both have led their collegiate choral groups on national and international tours.In a joint statement, Drs. Bell and Bolster shared their enthusiasm regarding their new roles: “As long-term conductors, college/university music educators, church musicians, collaborators, and personal friends, we are thrilled with this opportunity to continue our work together in the company of this marvelous and talented ensemble of dedicated music professionals. We look forward to using our collective creative energies to produce quality performances of the music of J.S. Bach and other composers of significance.”The Kentucky Bach Choir’s Winter concert will take place Sunday evening, December 7, 2025, and its Spring concert will be held Sunday evening, April 12, 2026.
