Musicke’s Cordes Returns to Live Performance

The duo Musicke’s Cordes returned to live performances on April 15 with a short recital at Grace Episcopal Church in Providence, RI. The program, part of the Grace Church Noon Recital series, featured music by Corelli, Vivaldi, Purcell and others. A small, but enthusiastic live audience attended the concert which was live streamed to a remote audience.

The recital has been posted to YouTube and Vimeo and may be seen in its entirety at Thursdays at Noon Concerts: Musicke’s Cordes (April 15, 2021) on Vimeo

The recital excerpts portions of the duo’s program “Like the Voice of a Man… The Violin in 17th-century London” which they last performed in February 2020 in St. Louis and Louisville. The ensemble, Samuel Breene (baroque violin) and Jeffrey Noonan (lutes, theorbo, early guitars) has been active since 2013 and typically performs concerts on series and on university campuses across the Midwest and in New England.
