Founded in 1998, the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra stands as the Southeast's longest continuously running baroque ensemble, distinguished by its commitment to historically informed performance and innovative programming. Under the artistic direction of Grammy Award-winning violinist and scholar Dr. Julie Andrijeski, the ABO has established itself as a leader in the early music movement, having presented over 250 works from ca. 1600-1800 with exceptional artistry and scholarly rigor.
As Artists-in-Residence at the Cathedral of St. Philip since 2014, the ABO regularly collaborates with leading period instrument specialists, vocal ensembles, and early music organizations throughout North America. The orchestra's programming explores both canonical repertoire and lesser-known works, bringing fresh interpretive insights to baroque masterworks while championing rediscovered treasures of the era.
The Atlanta Baroque Orchestra is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization as recognized by the State of Georgia and the United States of America. All donations are tax-deductible.
