MELZITA, a new album by early music mezzo-soprano Rocky Duval, features works by Hildegard von Bingen and new songs by Duval written in Bingen’s secret language, Lingua Ignota. This album blends Hildegard’s chants with the modern production by Andrea Roberts. On February 21st, the release of MELZITA will be celebrated with a live show and reception in New York City. MELZITA will be available on select music streaming platforms such as Bandcamp and Apple Music. MELZITA is produced and engineered by Andrea Roberts, mastered by Jett Galindo, with cover art by Em Frank, marking this album as distinctly women-made. Meaning “honey” in Lingua Ignota, MELZITA is an homage to the sweetness of making art with friends and loved ones.
