London based Sabi Ensemble have released their debut album last celebrating the 150th anniversaries of two incredible and under heard of composers of the 19th and early 20th centuries; Louise Farrenc and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
The chamber music group, founded by historical bassist Carina Cosgrave in 2024, focuses on the music of historically marginalised and forgotten composers. This album includes Nonets by both composers and arrangements of two Novelletten by Coleridge-Taylor.
These are premiere recordings of these works on historical instruments and features the playing of many international early musicians including EMA member Clifton Harrison.
