Sarasa Music proudly presents the second concert-set of its 2026-27 Concert Series “Singing Allowed!” with a delicious smorgasbord of musical delights celebrating Nordic cultures. Nordic Circle offers a fascinating selection of music from Scandinavian nations spanning the early Baroque to the present day, including works by Capricornus, Strungk, de la Gardy, Grieg, Tulindberg, ABBA, and more. Continuing a season which includes singers in every program, Sarasa shares the stage with audience favorites: “exquisitely soaring soprano” Carley DeFranco (Melrose Free Press) and the “shimmering voice” of Krista River, mezzo soprano (New York Times). Sarasa will present Nordic Circle at three public performances, as well as to incarcerated teens at Massachusetts’ Department of Youth Services facilities as part of Sarasa’s award-winning ‘Music Unlocked’ program.
“The idea behind Nordic Circle is to take our audiences on a sweeping journey of music collected from a region rich in musical culture, from the early Baroque to pop culture. Sarasa is excited to present manuscripts found in Sweden’s Uppsala Library, portray Finland’s very own Mozart, Erik Tulindberg, bask in the gorgeous melodies of Edvard Grieg, and pay homage to the indelible musical imprints made by ABBA, Björk, and more!” ~ Co-Artistic Director, Jennifer Morsches
