This ensemble made a brilliant debut in San Diego Early Music Society’s series five years ago, and we could not wait any longer to welcome them back. The Gesualdo Six will present a selection of Renaissance motets and chansons from the French court, by composers such as Josquin des Prez, Antoine Brumel, Johannes Ockeghem, and Jean L’Héritier, focusing on European queens including Anne of Brittany, Margaret of Austria, Anne Boleyn, and Mary Tudor.
The Gesualdo Six will be showcasing their Queen of Hearts repertoire under the direction of renowned composer Owain Park this February 3rd, at St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. The show will begin at 7:30, and tickets can be purchased on the society’s website or at the box office.
