2024 Showcase Artists
duo cpe – The musicians of duo cpe, Andréa Walker, soprano & Mikhail Grazhdanov, fortepiano are both DMA students in historical performance practice at Case Western Reserve University. While equally versatile in vocal/keyboard repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries, duo cpe has found particular interest in late 18th-century German repertoire. They seek to bring the intimacy and immediacy of Salon culture to modern audiences. Inspired by the sensibility and cultural revolutions of the Age of the Enlightenment, duo cpe is dedicated to pushing the bounds of historical performance practice beyond Baroque.
Amelia Sie – Based in New York City, Amelia Sie is a virtuosic and adventurous performer of modern and Baroque violin. She received her B.M. and M.M. degrees in Violin Performance from New England Conservatory and her M.M. degree in Historical Performance from The Juilliard School. Her most recent engagements include a solo recital with GEMS Midtown Concert Series and concerts with Musicians of the Old Post Road and Albany Symphony. Amelia is honored to have been named a Mercury Chamber Orchestra Mercury-Juilliard Fellow for the 2023-24 concert year, as well as a Handel and Haydn Society Stone Fellow for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 concert years.
Magadalena – Magdalena is a US east coast ensemble with a mission to incorporate early music’s charming soundscapes with rich traditions and share the results with all audiences. Launched in 2022, Magdalena is a self-directed collective of early music specialists, including Liv Castor (harp), Mira Fu-En Huang (voice/percussion), Cole Manel (plucked strings), Niccolo Seligmann (bowed strings/percussion), Sarah Shodja (winds), and Cameron Welke (plucked strings). The ensemble has performed in Maryland, Virginia, New York, and Washington DC, with anticipated performances for Early Music NOW in Wisconsin and the Indianapolis Early Music Festival in Indiana.
