As Halloween approaches, the Sebastians explore the darker side of the Baroque. From Bach’s dramatic D minor Toccata and Fugue and Tartini’s legendary Devil’s Trill Sonata to musical portraits, storms, ghosts, and follies, this program uncovers the strange and theatrical imagination of the eighteenth century. Performed on period instruments, these works reveal a world where virtuosity, mystery, and storytelling meet.
The program includes music by Bach, Rebel, Telemann, Rameau, Tartini, Vivaldi, and Farina, alongside the world premiere of Carson Cooman’s Totentanz.
Presented by the Morris Museum at the Bickford Theatre. Tickets: $53 general admission; $48 for Morris Museum members. Prices include the $3 handling fee. For tickets and the complete program, visit the presenter’s website.
