Early Music America would like to welcome writers to contribute stories and essays on a range of subjects, including issues of inclusivity in our specialized field.
Our world has been rocked by unrest and violence even as it is still profoundly disrupted by the global health crisis. And many of those hit the hardest by COVID-19 are people of color, particularly African Americans – the very same people in communities already burdened by a history of prejudice, poverty, and especially racism. We hear the call.
This project will help to create meaningful connections between students, emerging professionals, and amateur early musicians at the 2020 Berkeley Early Music Festival.
