Diferencias: Renaissance Instrumentals from Italy and Spain

Duo Maresienne (Carol Lewis, viola da gamba; Olav Chris Henriksen, vihuela and theorbo) will play recercadas by Ortiz, fantasias by Gorzanis, Selma & Francesco da Milano, and toccatas and dances by Dalza and Kapsberger.  The program concludes with a spectacular set of variations by English viola da gamba virtuoso Henry Butler, who moved to Spain, where he became known as Enrique Botelero, and worked at the court of King Philip IV.
