April 5 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm CDT

$10

Early Music Missouri (EMMo) presents “At Court & Coffee House” with three of Johann Sebastian Bach’s best-known secular pieces, the virtuosic Brandenburg Concerti 4 and 5 and the charming Coffee Cantata, at East Central College in Union, Missouri. EMMo regulars Arianna Aerie (soprano), Jeffrey Ballard (tenor) and Kevin Warner (bass) will sing the cantata, and the EMMo Chamber Orchestra will be led by violin soloist Daniel Lee for all three pieces. Other featured soloists for the Brandenburgs include harpsichordist Charles Metz and recorder soloists Anne Timberlake and Rachel Siegal. Leighann Daihl Ragusa (traverso) will be a featured soloist in the cantata as well as in Brandenburg 5. In addition, East Central College Choir will join the EMMo period instrumentalists to sing one of Bach’s famous chorales from his cantatas. This collaboration will be the conclusion of a series of coaching and rehearsal workshops led by EMMo musicians as part of an Early Music Month project.

This concert will be held at East Central College (1964 Prairie Dell Road, Union, MO 63084) in the Theatre. Parking adjacent the concert hall is free. Reserved parking, elevators and ramps are available for anyone needing special accommodations. Early Music Missouri’s 2023-2024 season is supported by generous donations from our supporters as well as a Program Support Grant from the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission.

Admission is $10. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.eastcentral.edu/events/early-music-missouri-the-intimate-brandenburgs/
